Covered in numerous scars from his childhood, uses glamours to hide them. Most of the scars are very faded.
His right ear has a burn that can not heal. (Hidden under the moon-like symbol glamour) it contains aether from a fallen auspice.
His pact with his avatar gave him fangs.
His eyes glow slightly from a mix of light poisoning and having a partially restored, sundered soul. (Only visible in darkness.)

Short background (Pre ARR)

Mousey was born in a small village located in a Auspice's domain in the Skatay Range. Shortly after their birth he was claimed to be a monster reborn. Their right ear was branded with the monster's still burning bones, leaving a burn that will never heal, and a part of its lingering rage. The village was forbidden from killing or abandoning the branded kit, so instead they were ostracized. They were punished for every little slight, and forbidden from interacting with the other kits.Due to the minimal contact with others and being forced to stay quiet, Mousey never learned how to talk, or language overall. Their Echo awakened early, letting them make sense of the sounds said to them.On their 9th spring, they were pulled aside by one of the older viera and taught basic survival skills, alongside how to use a bow. This training lasted a year, the following spring they were thrown out of the village with only the tools they had on hand.Cast out from safety the Auspice made itself known. The huge beast was similar to a coreul, and had glaring green eyes that shimmered in the dark woods. It hunted the kit as they struggled to survive in its domain, keeping the viera from staying in one place for long.Mousey is unsure how many years he spent lost in the lightless woods the beast called home, but one day they heard a voice calling for them from a distance. The voice and language was unfamiliar, but they decided to take the risk and follow it.
He made it out later barely hanging onto life. The years of being prey developed into a lot of intense fears, reactions and nightmares. He also didn't grow much during his banishment from his home, so his age is impossible to fully guess.After an encounter with a pair of hooligans where he picked up the word “Mousey” (that he ended up claiming as his name) He was taken in by a retired nuhn named D'rummel. The senior miqo’te nursed Mousey back to health, and gave him a sense of safety. He grew to his current size once he was healthy.
In his 20s, after he gained more confidence in himself, D'rummel gave him an opportunity to go to Erozea. The goal was to get the viera to try to join the archers guild - and to get them away from the forest that rejected him.

After Shadowbringers

"Between the embers of the auspice's fear and rage, I catch glimpses of soft wings of light, and echos of a song from ages past."

Mousey starts suffering from Echo flashbacks of the life of the Auspice, who's aether bound with his own. From them he learned that the creature was born from a migratory species of Zu, what the beast that hunted him was and why, how the auspice was enraged, as well as the fact he was not the first and most not likely the last to be marked and hunted.He thus plans to find where he came from, which is made harder by his home being in the domain of another auspice. He knows from the Radiant's memories that it's close to the nesting ground of the white-winged Zu it started as, but that's as much Info as he has to work with. He is also trying to decipher a letter that may contain his true name.He works with his retainer Rollo to collect information, collecting as many books and reports he can about the subject and many late nights are spent scanning maps and discussing theories.They have found as many dead ends as spent sleepless nights, making him doubt he even should exist.

Post Endwalker

After the fight against Zenos in Ultima Thule, Mousey spent over a year in a coma, most of the time spent on life support in a state that could not heal due to how little aether his body and soul had. Now awake, his aether is unstable, but it's kept safe by the Radiant and his Avatar.

Additional Lore

The monster was none other than an Auspice referred to as the Radiant. A Zu with glowing wings and control over light. It was tricked into going into the domain of another Auspice, a coeurl referred to as the Verdant who was able to capture creatures in unbreakable traps.While it first went willingly into the dark depths of the woods, the countless years fell into a rage due to no longer being able to escape and see the sky. This rage turned the light it wielded into flames. Burning its feathers and leaving ash and eternally burning wounds in its wake. After evacuating as many of the veena as they could, the Verdant ended the Radiant and realized they too could no longer control their own aramitama, trapping creatures indiscriminately.The Coeurl realized the soul of the fallen zu could not return to the lifestream since the rage still burned, so they devised a plan. Place a piece of the radiant's soul into a viera, and cast them from the village. The verdant hunted them to encourage them to escape, and those who could not were buried near the corpse of the Radiant.This went on for generations, story and method changed until what it was when Mousey was born. A will to leave stronger than the aramitama.

A lesser panda found in the Aery after Nidhogg's demise. The panda is usually hanging on Mousey's shoulder or held in his arms while they sleep. Occasionally, Pan-pan will hog the whole bed, in a way that cats do. When Mousey is unable to care for it (or in the First), the lesser panda is placed in Tutaru's care. (She spoils it.)Meteion. While not actually a pet, the starbird joins Mousey years after the events of Endwalker. She is free to come and go as she pleases. The two love to share songs with each other.

Mounts

Moniker.
Mousey's ever faithful, ever gluttonous chocobo. The chocobo was standard issue for recruits of the Grand Companies. Since it's always by his side, it's rarely stabled, so the ice blue chocobo is prone to roaming. The viera shared his food with it for a few years, giving the bird a taste for human food. The chocobo will raid picnics and gardens looking for a snack.Lace.
A massive draught chocobo was donated to the scions. An unknown benefactor assumed the Warrior of Light was a mountain of a man, so they gave a mountain of a bird to them. Lace is unruly and will not let anyone on their back unless Mousey is also with them.Griffin.
The griffin is more of a gentleman's agreement than actual ownership. The griffin fled its home to escape the fighting in Gyr Abania. The Viera found it freezing and starving in the Coerthas Highlands. He nursed it back to health, and it lends it wings whenever he calls.Innocence Gwiber.
Mousey can manifest the Innocence Gwiber as a result/side effect of almost becoming a Light Warden. It requires a lot of light aether to create (hence why it can only be on the first), but it has unfaltering loyalty to him.
If his friends knew, they would not approve.

Mousey is physical with his displays of affection. Close proximity, touching, leaning, cuddling, etc. He tends to bite or be otherwise mouthy when getting more intimate. He does not handle receiving surprise physical displays of affection well. Communication and consent are very important to him. He likes to hear his partners. (Talking, purring, etc)Family

A loud, jolly Miqo’te who stepped down from being the tribe leader due to old age. He was very protective of anyone whom he claimed was part of his tribe and took Mousey in. He was very patient with the terrified veena, and celebrated every milestone, even of it was something as simple as "poked head out of room.". He did not approve of the name "Mousey" for the child, but the kid was determined.Val - Adoptive grandmother
A close friend of D'rummel, the older Rava Viera played a large part in Mousey's recovery and care. She spent most of her time behind the scenes due to her presence being stressful for the young kit. Val runs a fruit stand in her village and remains in contact with both her sisters in the jungle and with Mousey. She is curious about Mousey's history before he came into their care, and does her best to help him look into it.Rollo - adopted Sibling - retainer (carrd)
One of D'rummel's oldest blood-related grandchildren, the miqo’te set off to Erozea to seek out a new life for himself. A twist of fate had him end up as Mousey's retainer, in which he goes above and beyond, performing an administrative role. He does the reading and writing for the Viera, and is just as dedicated to the viera's goals as his master. Rollo is a target for Feo Ul's many pranks due to his relationship with their lovely sapling.Partners

The two had a very, very rough beginning due to Mousey' somewhat hostile attitude towards Viis in general. (Lyna reciprocated the feelings.) Once he started to warm up to her, (due to the Exarch's making them do things together) he found himself falling for her. While they aren't offically dating, he does visit her often and they write each other. They also spend thier heats together.Other Relationships
Y'shtola - Best friend
Since she lost her vision and started using aethersight, she noticed the aether in the ear Mousey kept glamoured. She pressed him on it, and they developed a relationship based on keeping each other's secrets. She also found out she could mess with the glamours he uses, and used to prank him by making the marking on his ear and wists different. She once looked into removing the aether keeping the burn from healing, but gave up once Mousey's soul was shattered by the light and the flame aether spread. She helps him with reading and writing, and is aware of every message in the viera's bag. She is the only one who's been allowed to touch the branded ear. She pressed G'raha into confessing his feelings for Mousey via blackmail.
